December approaches, opening the doors to a new year, loaded with the prefix "re". RE ENFORCING the way with hope, RECONNECTING a sense of proximity and solidarity with others. In December we RE SET OFF (or set off once again) from Arregaça to the city, bringing these communities together in Christmas wishes. What was planned will come to be, with the REORGANIZATION of schedules, places and activities that had to be suspended. We close a cycle of 10 masterclasses CASA ABERTA, this time dedicated to scenography. We do our first artistic residence of DA FAMÍLIA, with Valério Romão and Marco António Rodrigues. We receive our colleagues from the Almada Theatre Company and bring to you a freshly written children's show, starting rehearsals of ILSE, A MENINA ANDARILHA which will open in the spring. REDO, RELEARN, RELIGHT the way to the future which belongs to all of us.
After Vera Mantero and Ana Pais, António Fonseca, Nuno Carinhas, Ricardo Neves-Neves, Mónica Almeida and Miguel Abreu it is Fernando Ribeiro's turn. Maria João Brilhante closes the cycle of Casa Aberta with a masterclass where we are challenged to think of theatre starting with the space.
Rogério de Carvalho skillfully directs Cláudio Silva in the first Portuguese adaptation of Primo-Levi's work about nazi extermination. At a time when the extreme right gains ground in Europe, it's important to stage this play so as to avoid erasing the memory of one of the darkest periods in human history.
We begin rehearsals of Teatrão's new production for younger audiences. Ilse Losa is the chosen author to close the cycle of investigation dedicated to Portuguese authors. ILSE is THE WALKER GIRL, going between worlds looking for a home, without ever forgetting where she came from, what she saw and what she carries with her.
